Make reservations for awards banquet

The Pierce County Land Conservation Department, under the direction of the Land Conservation Committee and the Ellsworth Lions Club, will present the 53rd Soil and Water Conservation Awards Banquet on Thursday, March 27, at the American Legion Hall in Ellsworth.

The Pierce County Land Conservation Department, under the direction of the Land Conservation Committee and the Ellsworth Lions Club, will present the 53rd Soil and Water Conservation Awards Banquet on Thursday, March 27, at the American Legion Hall in Ellsworth.

Social time will begin at 6 p.m., the meal will be served at 7 p.m., and the awards program will follow. Banquet tickets are $12 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 273-6763 no later than this Friday.

Those to be recognized at the awards banquet include: Ronald and Caroline Kannel Family as 2007 Pierce County Outstanding Conservation Farm Award and Mike and Darcy Webster as 2007 Pierce County Soil and Water Conservation Farm Award.

Other awards to be presented include: Duane and Julie Kuesel as 2007 Pierce County Tree Farmer of the Year Award and Graden Gribble of Rocky Branch Elementary School as 2007 Pierce County Conservation Speaking Contest winner.

Keynote speaker for the event is Craig Tarr with Energy Concepts, Inc., a full service design/build renewable energy installation company based in Hudson.

The banquet is open to the public.
