Seven people at Coach’s Bar, 123 S. Main St., including the bartender, were given fines last week for being inside after hours. The six others given fines were female patrons.

Coach’s was also cited twice last fall for “after-hours” violations. One citation was given to owner Logan Moon, White Bear Lake, Minn.

Police Chief Roger Leque said a warning letter at the time was sent to Moon.

All the violations are now under review by police. A report will be sent to the City Council for possible action that could affect the bar’s operating license.

Also in the past week, River Falls police:

  • Arrested and jailed a 54-year-old man for allegedly kicking, slapping and possibly choking a young girl. This took place at 1593 W. Maple St.

The man was allegedly drinking vodka and was said to be upset with the girl’s back talk. He is also accused of stabbing a phone she had been using, with a knife.

  • Arrested a 23-year-old woman at 618 N. Clark St. for biting, slapping and allegedly pushing her boyfriend down a flight of stairs. The man, who called police for help, supposedly had a cut and bite marks to show officers.

  • Wrestled, brought down and arrested a shirtless, tattooed young man standing on the sidewalk and allegedly challenging pedestrians to fight him in the 100 block of North Main Street. Two female friends tried to hold back the 24-year-old St. Paul man, but he went after a 22-year-old River Falls man who was able to defend himself until an officer arrived. The cop ripped his pants subduing the suspect -- he was also wanted for a warrant out of Somerset.
