Two armed men dressed in black got away with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing BP Amoco Shop, 1553 Paulson Road, Saturday night.

River Falls police are asking for the public’s help to catch the suspects.

“If anybody saw anything — suspicious people, vehicles, something out of place — from 8:30 to 9 Saturday night in the area between ShopKo and McDonald’s, call us,” Police Sgt. Jeff Linehan said.

The robbery was over in a few minutes. A description of the suspects is minimal: Two white males of average build and height.

Linehan added that police are studying the store’s video surveillance for more evidence.

The robbers, wearing dark gloves, black clothes and stocking hats with bandannas over their faces, walked into BP Amoco at 8:40 p.m. One held a handgun, the other a long knife.

There were no customers inside and only one clerk.

Police say no words were exchanged. One man placed a note on the counter demanding money.

The male clerk complied, taking cash from one of the store’s two registers.

The money was handed over and the two suspects fled north on foot in the direction of ShopKo.

Linehan said a customer drove up to the convenience store as the two were running.

Persons with information about this crime should call a police investigator at 425-0909.
