The Basics for Local Kids program is giving away winter-wear items to local kids ages 0–18-years-old. Gently used and new coats, boots, snow pants, hats, mittens and gloves donated by community members will be available.
The second winter-wear distribution will take place in Ellsworth on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m.–noon in the Seyforth Building at the Pierce County Fairgrounds. This location is wheelchair accessible.
The winter-wear distribution events are about helping kids keep warm as well as giving them the basics needed to enjoy the outdoors during the winter despite financial situations. Kids ages 0 to 18 years are invited to get items they need from inventory available.
Families will fill out a simple request form on-site before volunteers assist kids with winter-wear items. Forms are also available on the website, Basics for Local Kids, for those who want to save time by printing, completing and bringing to the event. Kids needing winter-wear must be present to receive items.
