Several ambulances were called, and seven people were taken to hospitals with undetermined injuries following a minor accident Sunday evening, reported Pierce County sheriff’s Deputy Adam Olson.
“Multiple ambulances were requested due to the high volume of patients,” according to the deputy.
The accident occurred at about 8 p.m. on Hwy. 10 just east of County Road OO in the town of Trimbelle when a 2013 Ford Econoline van with several occupants sideswiped a guardrail.
According to the deputy, there was minor damage to both the guardrail and the van, which was driven by Kenny Vang, 44, St. Paul.
The cause of the crash was determined to be driver fatigue.
Ultimately seven occupants were taken to either River Falls Area Hospital or Regina Hospital in Hastings, Minn. Neither the names of the victims nor their ages were available Monday morning.
According to the report, the injuries ranged from a stiff neck to severe back pain.
Assisting on the scene were two ambulance crews from the Ellsworth and Prescott ambulance services, one ambulance from River Falls and the Ellsworth Fire Department.
