The driver of a gasoline tanker trunk killed in a fiery I-94 crash in St. Croix County Monday has been identified as Todd Richardson, 51, of Colfax.
Richardson was working for Kane Transport of Sauk Centre, Minn.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said Richardson was carrying gasoline to central Wisconsin when his truck lost control, went through a median, hit a bridge and started on fire.
The incident happened Monday morning on I-94 near Roberts, about 12 miles east of Hudson and the Minnesota border.
The fire was so hot that some of the pavement on the westbound lanes had to be replaced. Those lanes were closed for most of the day on Monday, but the freeway was fully re-opened by Monday night.
