Ellsworth teen injured in horse riding accident
A 15-year old Ellsworth teen was injured Wednesday night when a horse fell on him.
A 15-year old Ellsworth teen was injured Wednesday night when a horse fell on him.
Ronald Durkee, Jr., was riding a horse at N5339 515th St. in the town of Ellsworth when the horse reared up, and fell over backwards, landing on him. The accident happened at approximately 7:04 p.m., according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
Durkee was taken from the scene by Ellsworth Area Ambulance to Ellsworth and then air transferred by North Memorial Air Care to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
A Regions spokesperson said Thursday afternoon, a condition report will not be released per the family's wishes.
