One of two men injured in a rollover accident early Wednesday, Nov. 23rd, died later in the day at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Funeral arrangements for Kyle Gasteyer, 24, are pending, according to information on the Rhiel Funeral Home web site.

Gasteyer graduated from Elmwood High School in 2005, where Herald archives indicate he was a stand-out football player and long-distance runner on the track team.

Gasteyer and a companion, Ryan Deleo, 23, were southbound on CTH P, just south of the village just after 1 a.m., Wednesday, when their vehicle left the road and overturned, ejecting Gasteyer, who had been driving.

Gasteyer was transported by helicopter to St. Paul while Deleo was taken by ground ambulance to Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie with lessor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
