Unidentified body found in state park near Madison
A partially-decomposed body was found in a state park near Madison and Dane County authorities are trying to figure out what happened.
A partially-decomposed body was found in a state park near Madison and Dane County authorities are trying to figure out what happened.
A ranger at Lake Kegonsa State Park found the body a little before 6 p.m. Monday while doing prairie restoration work.
Sheriff’s deputies said the person was in an undetermined stage of decomposition.
At last word, investigators were not sure about the person’s age or gender.
Officials are not aware of anyone in the area who’s missing or unaccounted for.
The park is located about 17 miles south of Madison.
