GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers will play the team with the NFC’s best record on Sunday in Atlanta. At 8-2, the Falcons are a game ahead of the Packers and five other teams in the playoff race.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers says the Packers cannot afford to fall two games back if they want any kind of home field advantage in the post-season. Falcons’ quarterback Matt Ryan is 18-1 at home in his career. And since coach Mike Smith took over in 2008, the Falcons have the NFL’s best home record at 18-3. But Rodgers says the Packers play well on the road. They’re 11-10 in the last three seasons away from Lambeau Field.

Defensive end Ryan Pickett was added to the team’s injury report yesterday. He aggravated an ankle injury during a pile-up at Wednesday’s practice. But coach Mike McCarthy says he’s not ruling out Pickett for Sunday. Back-up safety Anthony Smith missed practice again yesterday with a bad ankle – and the coaches will decide today whether he can go against the Falcons. The Packers had a shorter practice yesterday, so everybody could go home early in the afternoon for Thanksgiving.
