TOWN OF EL PASO—On Tuesday, Aug. 17, the El Paso Community Club will host the Seventh Annual Crisis Fund Golf Tournament at the Ellsworth Country Club.
The golf tournament is the main fundraiser for the crisis fund. Last year, the tournament generated over $5,000, which was given back to the community to individuals who were in need of help for many reasons, such as victims of fire, illnesses, accidents, job loss, etc. Funds were also donated to local food shelves.
The club is a committee of residents from local and surrounding communities, who are trying to raise money to help people in need in the community.
This year, the golf tourney features two huge hole-in-one prizes. One will be a 2010 GMC pickup and, on another hole, a seven-day Caribbean cruise for two, both provided by Quinn Motors, Inc., of Ellsworth! Also, there will be team prizes of $200 for first place, $100 for second place and $50 for third place.
The tournament will be a shotgun start at 2:30 p.m. An entry fee of $50 per person is required. In return, that person, along with three other team members, will play nine holes of golf. Golf carts will be provided. The entry fee also entitles the golfer to enjoy a dinner prepared by Phil Huggett and crew at the El Paso Bar and Grill in downtown El Paso! There will also be a silent auction before the dinner and many door prizes will be given away that evening, which were donated by local businesses.
If not a golfer, there are other ways to participate to a worthy cause. If a business, please consider donating items for the silent auction, or for door prizes, or sponsoring a hole on the golf course for $50. If not golfing, but would like to enjoy dinner, sign up prior to Aug. 17 for the dinner (which will be $20 per person). Please call the El Paso Bar and Grill at (715) 273-5111 to sign up for dinner only.
Come and enjoy nine holes of golf, dinner and also a chance on some door prizes, and all the while helping people in need.
Pick up registration forms for golfing, for sponsoring a hole or for dinner by calling Merlin Blaisdell at (715) 273-3399 or Rich O’Connell at (715) 778-4862.
Please sign up early, as there are limited spaces available.
