Brewers’ closer Trevor Hoffman will have two minor league rehab outings this week at Triple A Nashville.
He’s scheduled to start for the Sounds Tuesday night, with a middle relief appearance on Friday night.
Hoffman is getting over a strained oblique muscle he suffered at spring training.
There was some talk that his Friday appearance would be at Miller Park, where the Class-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will play the Cubs’ farm club from Peoria.
But Hoffman wanted to play a higher level of competition in both outings. If all goes well Hoffman, 41, will return to the Milwaukee bullpen on Sunday at Houston.
