The Milwaukee Brewers salvaged a victory in New York Sunday, 4-2 over the Mets at the new Citi Field.

Mike Cameron homered in the sixth inning for the eventual winning run.

Jeff Suppan earned his first win of the year after two sloppy defeats.

Suppan gave up two runs on eight hits in six-plus innings with a walk and four strikeouts.

Todd Coffey got his first save, with two-and-two-thirds scoreless frames.

Former Brewer Nelson Figueroa took the loss, giving up three runs on five in six innings with two walks and three K’s. He’s 0-1.

Rickie Weeks went 3-5 with a double and an RBI, and Corey Hart went 2-3 with a walk and an RBI, as Milwaukee won only its second game in its last eight.

Omir Santos doubled, tripled and scored once for the Mets who left 10 runners on base and went 2-13 with runners in scoring position. Milwaukee has yet to win a series.

They’ve been 1-2 in each of their four sets so far. And after their loss on Saturday, they had dropped five games below .500 for the first time since 2007.

The Brewers are now 4-8, tied for last with Houston in the National League Central.

They’re off today, and will open a three-game series in Philadelphia Tuesday.
