Eau Claire to take on De Pere for American Legion baseball title

Eau Claire will face De Pere today (Wednesday) for the championship of the state American Legion’s Triple-“A” baseball tournament in La Crosse.
Eau Claire remained unbeaten in the double-elimination tourney by eliminating La Crosse 10-4 Tuesday night.
De Pere lost to Eau Claire earlier Tuesday 8-7 and if De Pere wins today, the two teams will play again since Eau Claire would only have one loss.
Meanwhile, Onalaska won the Double-“A” Legion tournament with an 11-1 rout of Kaukauna Tuesday night in Merrill.
Andy Mills of Onalaska was the MVP, and his team finished 30-6 in Legion play.
The Single-“A” state championship will be decided this evening in Lomira, as Horicon takes on Clintonville. Horicon suffered its first tournament loss Tuesday 4-1 to Marathon. Clintonville then eliminated Marathon 4-0.
