Victim identified in fatal crash near Spring ValleyA 19-year old Spring Valley native died Thursday morning after his vehicle struck a bull in the roadway then ran off the town road and struck a tree.
A 19-year old Spring Valley man died Thursday morning following a one-vehicle crash in the town of Spring Lake.
Logan M. Jacobson was westbound on 770th Ave. around 5:40 a.m. when his pickup truck collided with a bull that was on the roadway. The truck then went off the road and struck a tree. He was ejected from the vehicle.
Authorities were notified of the crash at 6:23 a.m.
Jacobson, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy from the Pierce County Medical Examiner's office.
The scene was about a mile east of CTH CC on 770th near 210th Street, in the vacinity of W2105 770th Ave. The location is about two miles directly south of Spring Valley.
Spring Valley Fire and Ambulance personnel responded with deputies. Elmwood firefighters and a paramedic from Ellsworth were also summoned but later cancelled.
Mr. Jacobson's funeral is set for 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. The visitation is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the Keehr Funeral Home.
