A female guard at a state minimum-security prison is on administrative leave, after two inmates said they had sexual relationships with her.

Fitchburg Police are investigating what might have happened at the Oakhill Correctional Institution. A search warrant filed Thursday in Dane County quoted one inmate as saying he had a relationship with the guard from January to July.

The other inmate first denied a relationship, but later admitted. He claimed she wrote him love letters when he was put in a segregation unit after the guard was put on administrative leave.

The warrant sought evidence to consider a possible charge of second-degree sexual assault. State corrections’ officials say she’s been on leave since mid-July.
