Rebirth of the Cheese League? Rams pick Concordia site

Wisconsin will again host three NFL training camps.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the St. Louis Rams will move their camp to Concordia University in Mequon.
An official announcement is expected soon and the school is not commenting until then.
The Rams have trained at home and they said a remote camp would give the players a better chance to bond.
They also considered campuses at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Whitewater, and Western Illinois, plus the Bishop O’Connor Center near Madison.
Reports said Concordia was chosen because of its large number of practice facilities, plus a new dorm to house the team.
They also wanted close access to a major airport, which Mitchell in Milwaukee provides.
Rams’ Coach Scott Linehan said last week he preferred Concordia for a camp that opens July 24.
At one time, five NFL teams trained in Wisconsin, in what was called the “Cheese League.”
Today, only the Packers and Kansas City have camps in the state. The Chiefs’ camp is at UW-River Falls.
