The WIAC men’s tournament opens tonight (Monday) and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater earned the top seed by winning its 12th regular season crown over the weekend.
The Warhawks beat UW-River Falls by five, while UW-Stevens Point lost its chance for a share of the title by losing to UW-Platteville.
Tonight, Whitewater will host eighth-seeded UW-Stout.
Number two UW-Platteville will entertain UW-Eau Claire while third-seeded UW-Stevens Point will host UW-La Crosse and No. 4 UW-Oshkosh will host UW-Superior.
Tonight’s winners will advance to the semi-finals on Wednesday night. The league title game is set for Saturday.
