Letter: The undiscovered country: It’s not far from home

Kinnickinnic State Park off Highway F southwest of River Falls is one of the area’s best-kept secrets.

I cross-country skied there Sunday through the beauty of forests and fields with an eagle gliding overhead.

A number of trails (over four miles of them) are groomed for classic skiers (thanks to whoever did such a good job on that). Other trails are designated for skate skiers, hikers and dog walkers.

Less busy than Willow River State Park, it is a great option for skiers looking for solitude as well as good exercise.
