Drifting snow and stiff northwest winds didn't deter more than 200 future brides and friends from attending the 14th annual River Valley Bridal Fair, hosted by Rivertown Multimedia, last Sunday.
Sixty-nine vendors offered samples of appetizers and wedding cake, bouquets and table favors, photography and entertainment offerings during the three-hour event, held at the River Falls High School.
About 125 guests attended short seminars on Trends in Chocolate, Travel options, what’s hot in flowers and unique hair styles offered by local businesses.
Shannon Beestman of New Richmond took home the Grand Prize -- a $500 Travel voucher by Travel Leaders Suntime Travel.
A dozen models from Hastings, Minn.; Cottage Grove, Minn.; and Woodbury, Minn. impressed attendees with the latest in wedding apparel during a 40 minute-show presented by The Bridal Shoppe, Eau Claire, with music and narration by Tricia Bradley Entertainment, also from Eau Claire in the school's auditorium.
Rivertown Multimedia is a trade group representing 10 community newspapers in western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota, which provides print, online and e-mail marketing products for the region. The group has hosted a bridal every February in the western Wisconsin area.
