The St. Croix Valley Shrine Club celebrated St. Valentine’s Day with an annual party held at the Ellsworth Masonic Center on Feb. 15.
Cheryl Hoffman of River Falls, who serves on the advisory board of the Women’s General Auxiliary for the Shriners Hospital for Children, reported Karen Wigent of Prescott has been appointed chair of the Auxiliary for this year. Dee Tronrud of River Falls has also been appointed to the Hospital Auxiliary advisors.
This last year the auxiliary raised over $160,000 in six states to aid the kids at the hospital. The auxiliary also helps raise funds by collecting “pop tops.” Just this year the Auxiliary turned over $6,000 in pop top funds alone
Larry Riemenschneider, past president, presented special commendations to Hoffman for her work with the Woman’s General Auxiliary, Larry Wiegand for his work with the Hospital Dads who transport children to Shriners Hospitals, and Milt Helmer of Beldenville for his work on publicity for the Shrine, and other fraternal organizations.
