River Falls water pipe breaks again

Local Municipal Utility workers are dealing with another broken water main at the location of Ninth Street near Meyer Middle School.
Drinking water service is being shut off at about 5 p.m. in the vicinity of Ninth Street between Hazel and Cedar streets until the pipe can be repaired and water tested to assure its drinking safety.
About one dozen homes and the Middle School in the immediate area will be without water while the repair is made.
A response crew is onsite and the estimated duration of the service interruption will be 4-6 hours.
Reconstruction of the street and water service in that area is planned for later this year.
A broken water main in the same area last month forced Meyer Middle School to close for a day.
Periodic road closures can be expected during the repair work.
