Karen Janovec, 47

Karen Lynn Janovec, age 47, of River Falls, Wis., died Friday, Nov. 23, at the River Falls Area Hospital, River Falls.

Karen was born on July 12, 1965, in Austin, Minn., the daughter of James and Janice (Anderson) Ingersoll.

Karen married Brian Janovec on May 9, 1992, in Austin. She worked as a legal secretary until she and Brian began raising their family. Karen was a member of Ezekiel Lutheran Church and active in the Altar Guild and Bible study. She was her boys' biggest cheerleader. She loved to watch football (Vikings) and loved to play games.

Karen is survived by her husband, Brian; sons, Jack and Alec; mother, Jan Ingersoll; sister, Ruth (John Warneke) Emerson, and brother Jim (Wendy) Ingersoll; parents in-law, Paul and Mary Ann Janovec; brothers and sisters in-law Rodney (Lori) Janovec, Jeffrey (Amy) Janovec, and Mark (Tracy Blevins) Janovec. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Ingersoll, and brother in-law Steve Emerson.

Funeral services for Karen will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, River Falls. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday.
