Wisconsin company Black Earth Meats reports it is recalling about 99 pounds of beef tongue produced Oct. 8, 11, 17 and 18.
The company recalled cases of Natural Beef Tongues and Local Beef Tongues because it is possible the tonsils weren’t completely removed from them.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the problem was found during a routine food safety inspection. Tonsils have to be removed to avoid exposing people to mad cow disease.
