Winter parking rules apply now

With the potential for drifting snow, sleet and ice again upon us, the River Falls police remind city drivers to pay attention to overnight parking restrictions that started Nov. 1 and will continue through March 31.

With the potential for drifting snow, sleet and ice again upon us, the River Falls police remind city drivers to pay attention to overnight parking restrictions that started Nov. 1 and will continue through March 31.

These restrictions are meant to give city street crews the clearest possible lanes to plow snow so that traffic can move freely and safely during winter weather, especially following storms.

Odd/even parking restrictions work like this each night between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.:

  • Park only on the odd-numbered side of the street on odd dates.

  • Park only on the even-numbered side of the street on even dates.

Go by the date after midnight when determining even- and odd-numbered dates.

Police Chief Roger Leque advised that vehicles parked in violation of these restrictions will be ticketed and possibly towed.

For questions, call the police department at 715-425-0909.
