On Nov. 1 the River Falls Area Hospital, River Falls Medical Clinic and Main Street Dental hosted a Halloween candy buy back in which it collected 180 pounds of candy that will be shipped to military troops serving overseas.
The goal of the event was to promote eating candy in moderation and to help prevent childhood obesity. Children also made cards for the soldiers to go with the candy.
Those selling back their Halloween sweets received giveaways of healthy snacks and toothbrushes.
