The Wildcat volleyball team made the long trip to Rhinelander for a WIAA regional semifinal the night of Oct. 18, only to have its season come to an end with a 3-1 loss.
The 12th-seeded Cats pushed No. 5 Rhinelander to four games before losing by scores of 21-25, 10-25, 25-22, 14-25.
Rhinelander went on to lose to fourth-seeded Eau Claire North, 3-2, in Saturday’s sectional final.
Amanda Rohl led the Wildcats that night with 20 kills in 44 attacks while adding one solo block and three block assists.
Joellen Turner contributed six kills on the night while Megan Pechacek had five kills, two service aces, and passed at a 2.05 clip.
Izzy Shafer dished out 31 assists and had eight digs while Halle Barnabo led the defense with 19 digs while adding one service ace.
