Men from the HQ Battery, 1/121 Artillery, 32nd Division, part of the Red Arrow Brigade, gathered at the American Legion on Main Street Saturday afternoon for the 50-year reunion of their activation from the River Falls Armory to Fort Lewis, Wash. in 1961-1962.
They commemorated the activation 50 years after their return in 1962, when tensions of the Cold War era calmed and the threat of nuclear war had passed.
About half the 112 men who were activated attended the reunion, which included social time and a supper of ham, potatoes, green beans, rolls and a decorative cake.
