River Falls native Jacqueline West will be at Karma Gifts, 204 North Main Street, from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28 for a book signing and Halloween celebration.
West is the author of ‘The Books of Elsewhere’ middle grade book series. The third book in the series, ‘The Books of Elsewhere, Volume Three: The Second Spy,’ was released this summer. The event will include a reading, book signing, Q&A, art project and fall treats. Books will be available for purchase during the event.
On Halloween night the River Falls Masonic Lodge will host a Halloween Harvest Food Drive from 4:30-9 p.m. at 226 South Wasson Lane, between Moody’s and Hoffman Park. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food donation and walk the trail of terror. The free, family friendly event will feature photo ops and candy. All donations go to support River Falls families.
The annual haunted house at the River Falls Public Library, 140 Union St., will be held on Halloween night from 6-9 p.m. This year’s Halloween adventure is titled “Chaos at the Castle” and is geared for children and their families who will love seeing some of their favorite Alice in Wonderland characters.
Child-size entertainment will be provided for those waiting to enter the realm.
Visitors will be escorted through Wonderland in groups, with entertainment and treats provided along the way. Admission to “Chaos at the Castle” is free.
Annual lights and displays at “Spookville” at the Roman Pechacek farm. You’ll see a pirate’s cove, graveyards, and much more. There will be treats for the kids. The lights are on from 6-10 p.m. through Wednesday, Oct. 31 -- just drive through the yard. Also collecting for the local food pantry. There will be containers for those wishing to donate.
Go south on Hwy. 29, take a right on County Road FF, then go less than a half-mile.
On Thursday Oct. 25, 2012, the UWRF Dairy Club will be hosting a Haunted Pavilion (haunted house) at UWRF Lab Farm 1, corner of Cemetery Road and Wasson Lane from 7-8 p.m., for the not-so-brave -- lights on; and from 8-10 p.m. or the ultra-brave. Admission is $2 or two canned goods for adults and $1 or one canned good for those under 12. All collected items and money will be donated to the River Falls Food Pantry.
Abundant Life Church /Abundant Life Learning Center, 896 State Road 65, will hold a fall carnival from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The event will feature free carnival games, prizes, candy, and refreshments in a safe environment.
Candy and food donations are welcome with donation going to the River Falls Community Food Pantry
Westwind Supper Club is hosting a children’s breakfast and coloring contest on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Children ages 2-12 attending will receive a free pumpkin. Prices are $5.95 for adults, $3.95 for children under 10.
Halloween Bash is from 7-10 p.m. and will include a costume contest with $200 in prizes, judging starts at 9 p.m., no cover charge, food and drink specials.

The River Falls Area Hospital, River Falls Medical Clinic, and Main Street Dental will be hosting their annual Halloween Candy Buy Back from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the River Falls Area Hospital lobby, 1629 East Division Street. Each child under 12 years old may turn in up to three pounds of candy. Candy received will be sent to troops overseas.
