Businesses participating in the Art Crawl could compete in the scarecrow contest, which ended in a tie between Second Chances and Freeman Drug. Riverwalk Mercantile’s scarecrow won an honorable mention for its creative clothing made of Twinkie and Ding Dong packaged snack cakes.

See pictures of all the scarecrows in the photo gallery attached to this story. More pictures of the Art Crawl are available on its Facebook page.

The local Food Partnership sold caramel apples during the crawl, and Main Street took on a fall feel with decorations of hay bales, cornstalks and other autumn items. Many people stopped to watch a raku-firing demonstration at Kinni Clayworks.

Art Crawl organizers say the event has gotten great response from the community; they intend to continue holding it on the third weekend in October.
