Letter: Sports: Not a given

There is no requirement in the Wisconsin Constitution for school districts to provide or accommodate sports.

There is no requirement in the Wisconsin Constitution for school districts to provide or accommodate sports.

Nor is there a requirement for taxpayers to fund sports.

That said, I think Jason Nesbitt, who wrote a letter last week (“Let’s not overlook virtues of winning”) should be thankful taxpayers are even allowing the school district to accommodate sports.

As to, “...leaders...just worried about making it to retirement,” knowing this district, that statement is not even worthy of a comment.
