Hudson, RF both advance in soccer regional

Second-seeded Hudson breezed to a 10-0 victory over No. 15 Superior while No. 4 River Falls needed a shootout to earn a victory over No. 13 Wausau West in WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal action Tuesday, Oct. 9.
The Wildcats had to come from behind to force a 1-1 tie with Wausau West before winning the shootout, 5-3.
Both the Raiders and Wildcats will host regional final games this Thursday, Oct. 11. Hudson will take on tenth-seeded Menomonie, a 1-0 winner over No. 7 New Richmond Tuesday, while River Falls will face No. 12 seed Eau Claire North, who advanced with a 3-0 victory over No. 5 D.C. Everest.
River Falls and Eau Claire North will kick off at 4 p.m. Thursday at Wildcat Field while Hudson and Menomonie will hit the field at 5 p.m. at the Hudson Middle School field.
