River Falls business burglarized over weekend
Someone got inside Dairy Queen on South Main Street between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning and made off with cash. As of Tuesday, Oct. 9, the case is still under police investigation. No one has been caught or arrested.By: Phil Pfuehler, River Falls Journal
Someone got inside Dairy Queen on South Main Street between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning and made off with cash. As of Tuesday, Oct. 9, the case is still under police investigation. No one has been caught or arrested.
Sunday morning a door to the fast-food restaurant was found unlatched. The alarm was also turned off.
There were no signs of forced entry.
River Falls police also:
--Arrested a 21-year-old UW-River Falls student for theft downtown outside The Goldsmith jewelry story at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. The student, who admitted he was intoxicated, allegedly took an outside sign that said "Batteries" and was seen walking with it on Main Street. He was confronted by an officer and the sign eventually was returned undamaged. The student got sick on the sidewalk soon after his arrest. He was given a $240 fine.
--Arrested a 60-year-old River Falls woman for illegal dumping outside the Lazy River Bar, 115 W. Walnut St., last Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 2. The woman allegedly placed cardboard boxes inside the bar's new dumpster. The retrieved boxes had labels with her name and address. She was questioned at her home and given a $177 fine.
