Have some fun with a fall fling
There’s still time to buy tickets for the River Falls Area Hospital Foundation’s new “Fall Fling” fundraiser set for Saturday evening, Oct 13.
There’s still time to buy tickets for the River Falls Area Hospital Foundation’s new “Fall Fling” fundraiser set for Saturday evening, Oct 13.
The event, billed as an “evening of entertainment, celebration and inspiration,” features a private concert with Tonic Sol-fa, a very popular Midwestern vocal group.
Fall Fling will be hosted at The Ridge Top, a new venue on the site of the old Virginian Supper Club, W10516 Hwy. 10, between Ellsworth and Prescott.
Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m., sit-down dinner at 6:30 p.m. and entertainment/program at 7:30 p.m. Event activities also include a silent auction and raffles.
Fall Fling replaces the annual Harvest Moon Barn Dance that raised more than $360,000 to support hospital programs and services working to improve community health.
Examples of grants funded with proceeds from past barn-dance fundraisers include:
- Injury prevention programs, including a falls prevention program for the elderly and a sports training and injury prevention program for local high school students.
- Expansion of hospital services available in western Wisconsin, including supporting staff training for our new daVinci surgical robot and helping to buy a water birth tub for our birth center.
- Increased access to health care for low-income residents of our region, including annual support of the River Falls-based free clinic, expansion of a school-based dental program, and an assistance fund for cancer patients.
“We expect more than 200 community and business leaders to join us at (Fall Fling) to celebrate the good things happening at our hospital -- and the impact philanthropy has on the communities we serve,” said Heather Logelin, foundation and community engagement director for River Falls Area Hospital. “If you can’t make it on Oct. 13, we hope you will still consider a donation to support our hospital and its work to improve community health.”
Tickets are $50 and can be bought through Friday, Oct. 5, online or at the hospital’s reception desk during regular business hours. If there is still room, tickets sales may be extended into next week.
The platinum sponsors of this year’s event are First National Bank of River Falls, Emergency Care Consultants, M & M Anesthesia, McGough Companies, Minnesota Oncology, Pope Architects, River Falls Medical Clinic, Sodexo, Spring Valley Health Care Services and St. Paul Radiology.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available, and donations are being accepted for the silent auction and raffles.
Those interested should call Heather Logelin at 715-307-6001.

The River Falls Area Hospital Foundation raises money for programs, services and equipment that the hospital might not otherwise be able to afford. Funds raised by the foundation support the hospital, which in turn works to meet the health needs of the community.
