Some items, including high-heeled shoes, spilled out and left a trail leading to where the man was found crouching in the corner of the fenced-in backyard.
River Falls Police were called for the intruder alert at 5:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21.
A women at that address woke to banging noises from her living room. She crept down the hall and saw a strange man lurking.
She crept back to her bedroom where she had her two kids, locked the door and called 911 on her cell phone.
Officers, shining flashlights, soon illuminated the suspect outside.

When he was searched, police allegedly found marijuana and a prescription bottle with pills that might have been stolen from the woman in the burglarized home.
The man was driven to county jail in Ellsworth. He fell asleep during booking. Criminal charges are pending with the district attorney.
