Wisconsin ranks a lowly 44th among the 50 states when it comes to charitable giving, according to the “The Chronicle of Philanthropy.”

Wisconsin ranks a lowly 44th among the 50 states when it comes to charitable giving, according to the “The Chronicle of Philanthropy.”

It reports that Dairyland-state residents contributed an average of $1,700 apiece, about 3.4% of their income to charity. The national median rate is 4.7%.

Utah topped the list at more than three times Wisconsin’s rate, while New Hampshire ranked last.
