Sheep-herding dogs come to Hudson
The Wisconsin Working Stock Dog Association is bringing its 27th annual Labor Day stock dog trial to Hudson, Aug. 31-Sept. 3 at the Badlands Sno-Park, 772 Kinney Rd. in Hudson.
The Wisconsin Working Stock Dog Association is bringing its 27th annual Labor Day stock dog trial to Hudson, Aug. 31-Sept. 3 at the Badlands Sno-Park, 772 Kinney Rd. in Hudson.
The sheep herding competition will feature some of the country’s best stock dogs and dog handlers. The event is open to the public
Competition is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday for the double-lift final.
Spectators will see over 120 dogs working off verbal and whistle commands at distances of up to 500 yards from their handlers.
Admission is $5 for adults, children under 10 free. There will be indoor shelter and food for sale. The event is outdoors and the trial will go on rain or shine. Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs.
