This may come as a surprise to many, but Wisconsin does not have a season on pedestrians. Please do not try to hit us as we are an endangered species in today’s world.
Please Note: According to state law, pedestrians can cross legally at marked and unmarked intersections.
I’m a walker and I can’t tell you how many times I have crossed at an intersection only to be nearly run over before I got to the other side.
I have even had people wave and smile at me from their cars as I was approaching the second half lane of the street.
Most of the intersections in River Falls are visible to drivers. So please put down the phone, stop texting, stop eating, and slow down.
It’s not worth the loss of your driver’s license, loss of your insurance, loss of a job, fines, tickets, court costs, attorney’s fees, blemished driver’s record, time lost from work and family, possible credit score messed up, possible jail time, lawsuit, and the lifetime of guilt you would carry.
