Letter: Experienced prosecutor, supporter of victims: He deserves your vote
I support the re-election of John O’Boyle as Pierce County district attorney.By: Keith Rodli, town of River Falls, River Falls Journal
I support the re-election of John O’Boyle as Pierce County district attorney.
Plain and simple, the office of district attorney is one that calls for experience, and John has that in spades.
After nearly 20 years of protecting the public, he has prosecuted just about every type of crime that comes up.
People may not always agree with his decisions. In fact, he is fiercely independent — a quality much needed when it comes to being a prosecutor.
John has also been very involved in three local organizations that have played an important role in providing services to victims of crime.
He was a founding board member of the local Restorative Justice Program; a founding board member of SART (sexual assault response); and he currently chairs the board of directors for Turningpoint (domestic or sexual violence).
Think about that for a moment. Three crucial victim-assistance organizations in our community, and John O’Boyle has played a central role in either the creation or governance of all three.
A primary election is scheduled for Aug. 14. John has an opponent.
Nothing against the opponent, but John O’Boyle deserves to be re-elected.
