Letter: My children learned the ‘power of giving’

I wanted to thank the Journal for taking the time to visit with my girls last week Tuesday afternoon at their lemonade stand.
They were able to raise $323.75! All of this money will be given to the memorial fund that has been set up at the River Falls Public Library in Sophie Schaffhausen’s name.
This event has been difficult for the community, and, as a parent, it is hard to find a way to have your children process an event that is so very tragic.
The lemonade stand was one way that I thought would help my girls understand that the power of giving can be an amazing tool to help with the grieving process.
