Benefit planned for Jordan Bloomstrand

A benefit has been planned on Saturday, July 28, for Jordan Bloomstrand of Ellsworth, to help cover his medical expenses.

A benefit has been planned on Saturday, July 28, for Jordan Bloomstrand of Ellsworth, to help cover his medical expenses.

Last year, at age 18, Jordan was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After undergoing surgery he has suffered many complications and will need extensive therapy due to a stroke suffered during the procedures.

Jordan was very active in music and drama programs at Ellsworth High School, where he was the recipient of many awards and scholarships, including the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, and the John Philip Sousa Band Award. He was majoring in music education at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. He has been an active leader and volunteer at English Lutheran Church.

The benefit will run from 3 p.m. to midnight at The Ridge Top (10 miles west of Ellsworth on Hwy 10, formerly The Virginian) and include live music and dancing, silent auctions, raffles, food and beverages, a bake sale, a 5K race in the morning (9 a.m.), and a variety of other activities.

There has been a fund set up at Bank Mutual in Ellsworth, 385 W. Main St., Ellsworth, WI 54011. Please make checks payable to Jordan Bloomstrand Benefit.
