I am writing about my serious concerns regarding a very important value for our country — common good.
While there are many and complicated issues, I believe common good is crucial to our country’s integrity — a beacon not only for us but for other nations as well.
Common good can give all leaders integrity and our citizens hope, assurance, confidence, and reinvigorates our spirit.
To pursue common good would require many obstacles to be overcome — like lobbyists, a party philosophy, constituencies, etc., all wanting their voices to be heard.
This would also require great moral courage, honesty, trust in each other. This value, so important, effective and precious, cannot be owned by any one party or person.
I sincerely hope our leaders will seriously consider pursuing common good for all and not waiting two years and another two years, and on and on.
I believe our hearts speak truth if we only humbly listen.
Planting the common good seed will produce awesome results, especially if the ground is rich with honesty, transparency and integrity.
