At 9:16 a.m. on Friday, July 13, the River Falls Days Medallion was found by Miranda McAleavey and Maddie Wagner, both 16.

After seeing the clue at 9 a.m. at 2nd and Locust streets, McAleavey and Wagner headed over to Wells Park on Sycamore Street in the southeast part of River Falls.

McAleavery said they went to Wells Park because it is by a cemetery and the River Falls Days theme was “Kinnistitious.” According to Wagner the pair found the medallion behind the tennis court in the bushes.

After turning the medallion in at the Chamber office the duo, who had a River Falls Days button, received $250. They plan on splitting the money in half (it would have been split three ways if their friend hadn’t decided to sleep in.) The RFHS juniors plan on using their winnings, like any 16-year-old would, on gas.

In their third year of searching for the medallion, McAleavey, daughter of Kevin and Becky McAleavey, and Wagner, daughter of Dave and Kristi Wagner, got lucky on Friday the 13th.
