Ezekiel Lutheran Church, 202 S. Second St. will be holding a Blessing of the Animals Service on Sunday, July 15. The brief worship service will be held outdoors near the front entrance/lawn area starting at 9:45 a.m.
“Our animals provide us with lots of joy, and they are a marvelous part of God’s creation,” said Diaconal Minister Kim Suhr. “To celebrate this, you and your pet will be invited to come up for a special blessing during the service.”
Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and other pets should be brought on leashes or in appropriate pet crates under the control of their owners.
“Of course, everyone is also invited to attend one of our regular worship services before (traditional worship at 8:30) or after (contemporary worship at 10:45) the Blessing of the Animals Service,” said Pastor Mark Hall.
In case of rain, the Blessing of the Animal Service will be cancelled.
