Search is on for missing 5-year-old boy

Around noon Tuesday, July 3, it was reported that a 5-year-old boy went missing south of Prescott. Crews are doing foot searches with a police dog in the area around N4842 1165th St, which records show is owned by Richard and Barbara Meyer in the town of Oak Grove.
Authorities described the boy named Scott as three-feet tall, short blond hair in a "buzz" cut and blue eyes. He was last seen a few hours ago, in the weeds south of his home wearing bright green shorts and no shirt.
Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies, along with River Falls, Prescott and Ellsworth fire and ambulance are involved in the search. A helicopter from the Minnesota State Patrol is also joining the search.
There is concern about the extreme heat for all involved in the search, as well as the boy.
