River Falls Lions receive awards
The River Falls Lions Club held their annual recognition banquet at the West Wind Supper Club in May. The following awards were given out: --Lion of the Year Award was presented to Vince Seidling.
The River Falls Lions Club held their annual recognition banquet at the West Wind Supper Club in May. The following awards were given out:
--Lion of the Year Award was presented to Vince Seidling.
--Knight of Sight Award from the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin was presented to Lion Don McLean.
--Roger Horness Youth & Community Service Award was presented to Carol Mottaz.
--Birch-Sturm Fellowship is named after Frank V. Birch and Clarence L. Sturm, the only international presidents from Wisconsin. Todd Frisch, received this honor for his dedication and commitment to Lionism.
--Melvin Jones Fellowship was presented to Larry Testa for his exemplary dedication to humanitarian service. The Melvin Jones Fellowship was created in 1973 and takes its name from the founder of Lions Club International, Melvin Jones. It is LCIF’s highest honor and form of recognition.
--Special Appreciation Award was presented to Anny Rustad for her behind-the-scenes efforts with various events for the club and her role as editor of the Lion Newsletter.
Other program events included: Clint Delander, Tom Elbert and Dan Rude sworn in as new members and Lion president Nick Carstens provided a review of the 2011-12 service year.
