The school board approved June 18 a number of nonunion settlements with various employee groups, including principals.

According to Personnel Director Donna Hill, the new deals all fall within the district’s standard 2.5% increase for the 2012-13 school year.

That increase is a combination that includes yearly wages, and coverage for health and dental insurance.

School district employees are switching to more affordable health coverage provided by nonprofit HMO and Minnesota-based HealthPartners.

The new yearly and hourly salary ranges approved by the board affect some 40 nonunion district employees.

They are: bookkeeper, $43,974 to $46,749; accounting clerk, $39,542 to $42,317; accountant, $47,472 to $50,247; accounting assistant, $14.01 to $15.42 per hour; food service worker, $16.07 per hour; administrative assistants, $50,299 to $53,074; Kids Club supervisor, $44,402 to $46,966; Kids Club leader, $12.44 to $13.85 per hour; Kids Club assistant, $9.25 per hour; Kids Club accounts receivable, $14.81 to $16.28 per hour; mechanic, $51,555 to $54,488; computer workstation technician and also for software/staff development facilitator, $43,874 to $46,468; assistant transportation supervisor, $44,404 to $46,998; community education coordinator, $45,112 to $47,706; information technology supervisor, $63,479 to $66,074; maintenance specialist, $57,477 to $60,071; transportation supervisor, $63,479 to $66,074.

The new salary range includes four steps based on experience. For the 2012-13 school year, support staff workers will begin at Step 1.

The year after that they will move up to Step 2. Step 4 is the highest.

Hill said the four-step setup for work experience is gradually being implemented for all school district employees. It does not, at this time, include teachers.

The school board Monday night also approved the following yearly pay increase for principals:

  • Assistant principals, for activities and academics, at the high school, going from $90,127 to $92,994.

  • Assistant principal for Meyer Middle School, $84,814 to $87,615.

  • Elementary school principals, $95,332 to $98,133.

  • High school principal, $108,289 to $111,286.

  • Meyer Middle School principal, $101,335 to $104,332.
