Touch-A-Truck For Kids held three independent fundraisers during the one-day event to benefit local community groups.
River Falls Ambulance ran the brat stand with 100% of sales benefiting their new cardiac program -- $800 was raised from food and beverage donated by Dick's Fresh Market, River Falls Viking Coca-Cola and Best Maid Cookie Co.
In addition, River Falls Royal Ambassadors sponsored the fire truck slide and Jerry Carter and Mel Germanson, the two grumpy old men, collected 344 pounds of nonperishable food and $200 in cash donations at the entrance to the event to benefit River Falls Food Pantry.
Organizers estimate 3,000 to 3,500 event goers came to see, get inside and touch 65 trucks that were displayed.
The next Touch-A-Truck For Kids will be in June 2014.
