With 145 registered students, spots are filling up for River Falls’ 4-year-old Kindergarten (RF4C), but there are still some spaces left for those who have not registered.

The no-charge, RF4C program is a community-based education program for children who will be four years old by Sept. 1.

Students are taught at different locations throughout the area: Abundant Life Christian Learning Center, The C.H.I.L.D. Center, Jacob's Ladder - Ezekiel Lutheran, Little Adventures Child Care Center, River Falls Public Montessori and the University Preschool.

RF4C classes will run Monday - Friday from either 9-11:30 a.m. or 12:45-3:15 p.m. Some locations will offer extended childcare for an additional cost.

RF4C will run on the same calendar as the River Falls School District.

School bus transportation will be provided to some, but not all of the RF4C sites.

Children will be picked up on the morning bus route and taken to their regular elementary school. From there, RF4C students will be transported as follows:

  • Westside to Abundant Life

  • Rocky Branch to CHILD Center

  • Greenwood to Jacob's Ladder

  • Any elementary to Montessori.

All families living outside the city limits who need bus transportation will attend morning RF4C classes.

All children living within the city limits and needing transportation will attend afternoon RF4C classes.

All children who are bused have three options for pickup and drop off: At home; at a home daycare; or at a child care facility.

Pickup and dropoff locations must be consistent.

Curriculum will focus on early literacy and language but also include math, social studies, science, health, physical education, art, and music. Students will participate in “hands-on” activities.
