Grads mark beginning, end

A total of 238 graduates crossed the stage at the 1 p.m. commencement ceremony June 3 to receive their high school diplomas.

Students Chris Ertsgaard and Haley Zimmerman spoke on behalf of the graduating class, offering words of humor, encouragement and inspiration. The RFHS Wind Symphony filled the gym with rousing music, including the stirring and classic “Pomp and Circumstance” as the graduates filed in.

The Chamber Choir bid the seniors farewell in singing, (I Hope You Had the) “Time of Your Life.” The Class of 2012 chose as its song “It’s the End of the World as We Know It,” as well as choosing a class quote from Sir Winston Churchill:

“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
